Sometimes you just need to take a break.

breaks in life are needed to get to your goals and mindset
We all are extremely busy these days. It seems like we are being pulled in 99 directions at once.
&
I’m certainly no different. It seems I am constantly working. Constantly moving towards my business goals, my training goals, etc… and whenever I’m not doing that, I’m busy doing something with the wife, dogs, or family.
&
I’ve heard of people getting burned out before. It happened to me, back when I was teaching bootcamp for the morning classes 5 days a week at 515 am. Waking up at 400-415 am everyday. Getting less then 5-6 hours of sleep. Wasn’t long before I realized this isn’t good. My health is going down, my motivation is going down. Things need to change. So I brought in new trainers to help take some of that early morning burden off me. Health returned, and motivation returned.
&
But something happened on a Thursday in October that I simply can’t explain.
&
The day started off awesome. Was getting my goals knocked off for the day, working my daily list down, and keeping strict to my daily practices (meditation, breathing, yoga), but all of sudden 4:00 came.
&
I had just finished eating a healthy meal of eggs and veggies, went back into my office and WHAM! Had no desire to do anything.
&
I couldn’t explain it. No motivation. I had something planned, was supposed to work on my referral website. But that wasn’t  going to happen. So I tried moving into something that didn’t require thinking— email……. nope——editing videos………nope
&
My mind was a complete blur. I couldn’t think or concentrate.
&
So maybe if I just lie down and read. ABout about paragraph in that wasn’t happening.
&
So I decided I needed a break. No motivation for me was a serious thing, since it isn’t very hard for me to get motivated. I have so many goals for each day, week, month, quarter, year, and I move towards them with Massive Action each and every day.
&
I just burnt out. It happened to a friend of mine I remember. Can’t remember what he did to combat it, but what I did was decided to turn to Netflix and lose myself for a couple hours.
&
I found Act of Valor, the Navy Seal movie that I had wanted to see. It was very good and inspiring at the same time. So really a double shot—- motivation for me to get my butt in gear and a great movie.
By the end I found myself ready to conquer the day again. I got a couple things knocked off my list that night. All it took was a couple hours. Since then I’ve been full steam ahead again.
*
The point is sometimes you just need to take a break.
*
Weather that break is a couple hours or a couple days. It’s dependent on the person. Just like you can do much exercise for the body, you can do much ‘stuff’ in your life. And we need to take a break to recharge our batteries.
*
For me it was a movie. For you, it might be a message, a hot bath, a workout, a hike, a visit to a friend/family, etc……..
*
I’m ready to conquer the day once again. But I’m willing to listen to my body when it tells me:
*
“Hey, I need a break buddy!”
*
Listen to your body. It knows what is best for you.
